Welder Ignites Dry Brush, Fire Extends to Garage

Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire near North 231st Avenue and West Lone Mountain Road just after 8 AM Tuesday.

According to the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, a welder ignited dry brush and other combustibles which extended into the garage. There were no injuries to firefighters or community members.

Arizona Fire and Medical Authority continues to urge against operating a welder, acetylene, or other torches with open flame due to the dry conditions.
