Deputies Continue to Search for Suspect who Stole Fire Engine

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office are still searching for the suspect that stole a fire engine from the Toyota Proving Grounds after the fire crew responded for a routine medical call.

We have received multiple tips regarding this incident. One tip said the sheriff helicopter can be seen flying over Carefree Highway and 331st Avenue.

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds Fire Department fire engine was stolen shortly after 6:30 p.m., after the firefighters responded to a routine medical call.

As previously stated, deputies are continuing their search to locate suspect that stole the fire engine from the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds.

Fire Truck Remains Outstanding, Search Continues

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds Fire Department fire truck was stolen shortly after 6:30 p.m. is still outstanding. The stolen fire truck has been entered into the system as stolen.

Firefighters responded to the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds near North Douglas Ranch Road and West Patton Road after a man was stuck on a fence. After being assisted off the fence, the man drove off into the desert with the fire truck.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has not released any vehicle or suspect information.

Search Continues for Stolen TAPGFD Fire Truck

The Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds Fire Department fire truck is still unaccounted for after being stolen Tuesday evening after the fire crew assisted an adult male off a fence at the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirms to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that deputies are actively searching for the fire truck and the adult male.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has not released any suspect or vehicle information.

A source familiar with the matter told Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that the stolen fire truck was the fire chief’s vehicle. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed this as of the releasing of this update.

Stolen Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds Fire Vehicle Recovered at Hospital

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is confirming to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds Fire Vehicle that was stolen after crews responded to assist a man off a fence at the proving grounds was recovered on January 10th, 2021 in the parking lot of Banner Del Webb Hospital.

No further information was given by the sheriff’s office. It is still unknown what type of vehicle was stolen.
