New Assisted Living Home Planned for Wittmann in June
Mother and daughter Crystal Hubbell and Tiffany Haight are two Oregon natives who’ve been taking care of the disabled for combined 34 years. Now, they’re in the process of opening Peaceful Gardens, a home for the developmentally disabled, elderly disabled, and people who need assistance in a home-like setting near North 254th Avenue and West Patton Road in Wittmann.
“I just felt drawn to come to Arizona, we felt at peace here,” Crystal Hubbell told Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts.
Crystal Hubbell announced the new assisted living home days before an HBO Last Week Tonight with John Oliver segment that made national headlines regarding long-term care, where John Oliver talks about the abuse and mistreatment that occur in long-term care facilities.
Crystal Hubbell told Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that Peaceful Gardens will have very strict policies including but not limited to very thorough staff interviews and background checks, security cameras, a cleaning schedule with a very strict cleaning protocol that includes deep cleaning, the home will always respond to concerns, monitor the care of all people and that family members are recommended to have an audio recording in their room.
“I have seen a lot of abuse in facilities, we will do everything to prevent Peaceful Gardens from becoming a facility,” Crystal Hubbell said.
Crystal Hubbell says she still needs staff including Assisted Living Home Manager, Caregivers, and Certified Nursing Assistants. If interested, please contact Crystal Hubbell by phone at 541-735-0148.
