Stage II Fire Restrictions Prohibitions:

  • Building maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal, or wood stove including fires in developed campgrounds or improved sites is prohibited. Devices fueled solely by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels that can be turned on and off are permitted. Such devices can only be used in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within 3 feet of the device.
  • Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, is prohibited.
  • The use of fireworks, target shooting, exploding targets, and incendiary devices is prohibited.
  • Welding or operating a torch with an open flame, using chainsaws between 9 am to 8 pm, operation of an internal combustion engine unless equipped with an approved spark arrester and in an area clear of all flammable materials is prohibited.

The Arizona Fire and Medical Authority reminds residents that a wildfire can start from vehicles, campfires, debris, and open burning. Follow all fire restrictions, use spark arrestors, secure tow chains, and never pull your vehicle off the roadway into dry brush.

Residents can go on to the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority’s website to learn more about wildfire prevention.

We need to start NOW to warn/convince people to NOT fire off aerial fireworks this 4th of July! Last NY’s Eve was ridiculous with aerial works going off close to and even over others’ homes. All are illegal! Not to mention the many animals that are frightened by such, also affecting many with TSD!!
