MCSO: Missing Sun City West 77 Year Old Found Safe
UPDATE 4 PM: “Peter Ekholm has been located and is okay,” said Sergeant Calbert Gillett with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
UPDATE 3 PM: The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that a Silver Alert has been activated for missing 77-year-old Peter Ekholm.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing 77-year-old Peter Ekholm who went missing from his home near Sentinel drive and Huron drive in Sun City West on August 4th, 2021 at approximately 8:46 am in a White 2016 Chevrolet Equinox with Arizona License Plate “ELKHOLM”.
“Peter left his residence to go to the CVS pharmacy and did not return,” said Sergeant Calbert Gillett with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in a statement to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts. “Peter suffers from dementia and bipolar disorder. He does not have his cell phone with him,” Sergeant Gillett added.
Mr. Ekholm is described as a white male, 5’10 tall, 180 pounds, blonde hair, and brown eyes. Last seen wearing a white t-shirt, sky blue pants, sandals with white socks.
What is a Silver Alert? According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s website, a Silver Alert is a notification system that provides immediate information to the public when a person with specific cognitive or developmental disabilities or a person the age of 65 or older goes missing.
