Food Bank in Wittmann Desperately Seeking Volunteers
The Saguaro Janes Corporation, or better known as the food bank in Wittmann, is seeking volunteers to help in their thrift store and their food bank here in town.
“This is a new kind of Wittmann, back ten years ago, we had lots of volunteers, now we’re just very thin with volunteers,” said Jerry Merten the Vice President of Saguaro Janes Corporation. “We’ve assisted lots of families,” as Merten pointed to the large stack of bags ready to be distributed.
Saguaro Janes Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)(3), a total volunteer organization specializing in emergency food distribution for low-income families or families in distress in Wittmann and surrounding areas.
Saguaro Janes Corporation is looking for volunteers to effectively distribute foods in the food bank located at 21802 West Wilson Avenue in Wittmann. Saguaro Janes Corporation is hoping to open the Saguaro Janes Thrift Store four days a week and require volunteers to achieve the dream.
Residents who wish to help Saguaro Janes Corporation, but can’t volunteer can mail monetary donations to PO Box 151, Wittmann, AZ, 85361. You can also drop off monetary, clothing, and non-perishable items at the food bank located at 21802 West Wilson Avenue Wednesday from 7 AM to 9 AM, Thursday from 7 AM to 12:30 PM, or arrangements can be made by calling Saguaro Janes directly at 623-388-2683.
