6 Displaced After House Fire in the Chaparral Neighborhood

The Arizona Fire & Medical Authority and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a house fire near the 27800 Block of North 204th Avenue just after 11 AM. The Surprise Fire-Medical Department also responded to assist. Fire crews arrived on the scene to a working fire in the interior of the house and began attacking the fire.

The fire has displaced 6 residents and the Red Cross of Arizona is responding to assist the displaced residents according to a spokesperson for the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority.

Firefighters attempted to resuscitate a dog, but unfortunately, efforts to resuscitate the dog were not successful. Two dogs and two ferrets were unable to escape the fire.

Despite rumours floating around on social media, there were no injuries to firefighters or community members.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, however under investigation.
