MCSO: Man Arrested for Violent Crash on 247th Avenue and Patton Road
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts that they have arrested Johnathan Munoz-Ramirez for 1-count of Aggravated Assault and 1-count of Endangerment after a violent crash near 247th Avenue and Peak View Road just after 2 AM on Sunday, August 1st.
“Speed and impairment were factors of this accident, however, this case remains under investigation,” said Calbert Gillett, a sergeant for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in a statement to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts
An early morning crash has left multiple injured, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Deputies and Firefighters responded to an accident near 247th Avenue and Peak View Road just after 2 AM on Sunday, August 1st.
“A Honda Civic driving northbound on 247th Avenue from Peakview Road when it collided with a black Ford Explorer Sport, who was stopped on the east side of 247th Avenue,” said Sergeant Monica Bretado, a spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in a statement to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts. “The driver of the Explorer, an adult male, was outside of the vehicle and was struck during the collision,” Sergeant Bretado continued.
“There were no fatalities,” Sergeant Bretado added.
“I heard what sounded like an explosion, followed by lights and sirens shortly after,” a neighbor commented to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts. “I could see the helicopter coming in and landing and taking off three different times,” the comment went on.
“I heard the helicopters fly over overnight. When I was out cleaning, I saw the police, the cones, and everything,” said a neighbor to Wittmann, AZ Emergency Alerts. “There was some scattered debris father down on the road. The explorer was hit right at the gate and the white car hit it,” the neighbor added.
The accident remains under investigation.
